Cu Chi Jeep Tour by Vietnam Travel Depot 2009

This is one of our interesting trip: ( if you like this trip and wanna join with us, please visit www.vietnamtraveldepot.com or email us at sales@vietnamtraveldepot.com)

In this tour, our group included our drivers and tour operators with 16 French tourists.

In this morning, at 7:30 AM our jeeps arrived early to stick the numbers on each jeeps then we pick up the tourist at their hotel and let jeep to the extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels, just outside Ho Chi Minh City.

On the way to Cu Chi, we stopped for a while to take photos of Notre Dame Cathedral and Post Office ( which were built during the French Colony). Then we jeep straight to Cu Chi Tunnels to start our adventure in Underground World.

At the end of this tour,at 1:30 PM, on the way to Saigon from Cu Chi, we had lunch at Ben Nay Restaurant. The food is delicious and the sights are very nice.

We arrived Saigon at 4:00 PM, a little bit late with the time we had planned before because there was traffic jam after the rain. Any way, this is really interesting trip. Hope you will enjoy this tour with us someday soon! :)

What’s the cheapest way to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi (Vietnam)?

Files under Vietnam Travel | 2 Comments

Hi, I’m right now planning a trip to Vietnam and I’ve realized that the only way to get cheap flights to the country is buying a round-trip arriving and departing from the same city (Hanoi); so it would be great to spend all the days traveling city to city all the way down to Ho Chi Minh City, and then get back to Hanoi the day before the plane departure.

So, what do you think is the cheapest way from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi non-stop? Any recommended bus or train? Thanks!

cheapest would definitely be by bus. But if you want a little more comfort, I’d go with train.

Also, there are hop-on hop-off sleeper busses that travel the length of Vietnam. I believe I paid $45 and got 5 stops. That’s the best, cheapest way to travel the length of Vietman, and what most backpackers tend to do. There are different companies that sell these tickets, so do your research. And best of all the busses are sleepers, as many of these segments will be overnight trips. I found the beds on the bus to be pretty comfortable. Not a bad way to travel.

Also, I don’t know your age, but if you are from 18-30, Hanoi Backpackers is the place to go. Trust me.

Footprint Vietnam Travel – PC / Interview with Mr Son, Dang Xuan – Part 4 of 4

Fourth and final part (4 of 4) of an interesting interview / press conference with Mr Son, Dang Xuan the Product Manager of Footprint Vietnam Travel. Taken on 23 October 2009 at Suntec Singapore during the ITB Asia 2009, the timing was originally set for a press conference, but a brief presentation and a boardroom set up, allowed for a good range of questions and answers about travel in Vietnam. Tourism and its development in Vietnam was discussed, as were topics on more general consumer travel. Cycling in Vietnam became a main sub topic, and recommendations given on whether to use road bikes or mountain bikes, whether to travel to Vietnam with your own bicylce, support vehichles, and if the company can take care of it/them while you move around the country. Other topics were more general, and range from moving around Vietnam, to where to go and what to do. An interesting discussion, which for travellers who have not been to this amazingly beautiful country, should help with just a little inisght into what to expect, and perhaps give a few ideas of where to go.

Vietnam is outstandingly beautiful, and offers great golf, stunning scenerey, mountains, spectacular beaches, impressively beautiful cities like Hanoi, and areas like Halong Bay which are quite simply breathtaking. If you have not yet been, make it a priority before the visitor arrival numbers grow too much!

There are four parts (around 10 minutes each) to the Footprint Vietnam Travel Press Conference / Interview.

does an australian need a visa to travel to vietnam?

Files under Vietnam Travel | 5 Comments

and how do you get the visa if you need one?

I do not expect votes for my answer, but I needed to say something due to some very misleading information given by another person..

If you are from Australia and arrive at the airport without a visa, you will not get one there at all, but will be deported. Only certain few countries (Australia is not one of them) can obtain a visa at the airport.

Other posters have given you the links to the Vietnam Embassy in Australia. Just go to those links. The website is not clear in respect there are other types of visa to the standard 4 week entry tourist visa. There are multiple entry visas for a slightly higher fee that are good for up to a year. Within Vietnam, you can get one for up to 3 years if you go to the right agent.

Cu Chi Tunnels with Jeeps by Vietnam Travel Depot

On the way to C…u Chi, we stopped for a while to take photos of Notre Dame Cathedral and Post Office ( which were built during the French Colony). Then we jeep straight to Cu Chi Tunnels to start our adventure in Underground World. During the war for independence, Viet Cong guerrillas built the labyrinth of narrow tunnels virtually underneath U.S. bases, using them to hide during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. On the way to Cu Chi, we saw many cottages and beautiful fields which still only exist in Vietnam countryside. At the end of this tour,at 1:30 PM, on the way to Saigon from Chu Chi, we had lunch at Ben Nay Restaurant. The food is delicious and the sights are very nice. We arrived Saigon at 4:00 PM, a little bit late with the time we had planned before because there was traffic jam after the rain. Any way, this is really interesting trip.
