I have been told that some things are hard to acquire there and should be brought with. I have medicine, sunscreen, and bug spray packed, is there anything else that I should bring, or does anyone have any "practical" advice as this is my first trip abroad???
Trecking sandals, cotton or microfibres clothes, air is very wet and very hot.
But it depends on, what you are used to at home. Mosquito-net, when you are not staying in a
Hotel with AC. Trousers with zip of legs and many pockets are practical.

hi i need help me and my husband and our daughter is going to vietnam for vacation…
how do we go from saigon going to Ha Noi (we will for 2nights)… then from Hanoi to halong going (stay for 2nights) then From ha long going back to Hanoi (overnigh)t then go back to siagon…. and whats the best beach resort at Ha Long we could stay….

Warmly welcome to Vietnam!
From Saigon to Hanoi, you can take the flight – Vietnam airline is recommended. Airfare is around US$100 per adult, there are 6-7 flights a day. 2night stay in Hanoi is just lovely. You can visit the city, old town, temple, museum – Museum of Ethnology is highly recommended. It is eye opening for visitor especially for children. For Halong bay, it is not beach resort destination so it is better to do overnight boat cruise – drive to Halong bay and take the junk boat for the cruise and then overnight on boat. Most junk boat provide confortable A.C cabin with ensuite private bath room so it is lovely experience staying out on the boat.
Then from Halong, you can either drive back to Hanoi for the direct flight back to HCM city or stay the night in Hanoi before the flight.
